Tabby Cat Memorial Urns

A tabby is defined by its markings, and no two tabbies are marked the same. We paint the stripe pattern by hand from your photographs rather than applying a generic tabby coat — including the M on the forehead that every tabby carries.

Ceramic Tabby Cat memorial urn with a hand-sculpted figurine on the lid

Product images are digital visualisations, not photographs of finished pieces. Every piece is genuinely made by hand in our studio, and because of that yours will differ from what you see here.

Sculpting a Tabby Cat

Cats are sculpted in fewer, longer curves than dogs. The line from the ear tip down the back to the tail should be continuous; break it into segments and the figurine looks stiff in a way that is hard to fix afterwards.

The pattern is the work. Mackerel tabbies have narrow parallel stripes down the flanks; classic tabbies have wide swirls with a bullseye on the side; spotted and ticked are different again. Painting the wrong pattern type produces a cat that is clearly not yours.

Stripes are painted following the curve of the body, not straight across it. On a curved ceramic surface this has to be judged by eye, turning the piece continuously as you work.

What we look for in your photos

  • The M marking on the forehead — present on every tabby, but its exact shape varies.
  • Pattern type: mackerel, classic, spotted or ticked.
  • Whether there is white on the chest, paws or muzzle, and exactly where.
  • Tail rings and whether the tip is dark.
  • Eye colour — green, gold, copper. It reads strongly at this scale.

Which size for a Tabby Cat?

Typical adult weight is 3.5–6 kg. Size S fits almost every domestic cat, including large males.

Size is chosen by your pet's weight before cremation, not by breed average — use their weight if you know it. The full chart is on our size guide.
