Why people choose heart & bow
A bow is a small act of dressing something up, and it carries a particular kind of affection — the sort where you buy your cat a collar they will obviously refuse to wear.
The engraved name matters more than the bow to most people who order this. Cut into clay before firing, it becomes part of the object rather than a label on it, and there is no version of the future where it rubs off.

How this design is made
The bow is rolled from a thin sheet of clay and folded while wet, then supported with small clay props until it holds its own shape. The props are removed before firing and their marks are hidden under the knot.
Names are cut with a stylus, not stamped, so letter spacing is judged by eye against the curve of the jar. Longer names get a shallower curve.
Glaze pools in the cut letters and darkens them, which is what makes the name legible from across a room without any paint.
