How It Works
You send us photos of your pet. An artisan sculpts their likeness in clay by hand, we send you a photo of the raw sculpture for approval, then glaze and fire it at 1200°C. Start to finish it takes about 4 to 7 weeks, including shipping.
- 1
You send photos
Three or four photos work best: one straight on, one from the side, and one showing any markings that make your pet look like themselves. Phone photos are fine. We will ask questions if anything is unclear.
- 2
We sculpt the figurine by hand
No moulds, no 3D printing. An artisan builds the figurine from raw clay, working from your photos — the shape of the ears, the set of the eyes, the curl of the tail. This is the part that takes the longest and it is the part that matters.
- 3
You approve the raw sculpture
Before anything is fired, we photograph the unfired piece and send it to you. Clay is still soft at this stage, so this is when things can be changed. Once it goes in the kiln, it cannot.
- 4
Glazing and the 1200°C firing
The piece is hand-painted, glazed, and fired at 1200°C. At that temperature the clay vitrifies — it stops being porous, so moisture cannot pass in or out. This is what separates a high-fired ceramic urn from a decorative one.
- 5
Packed in three layers and shipped
Each piece is wrapped in three layers of shockproof packaging and shipped with tracking. Transit is 7–14 days to most countries. If it arrives damaged, we remake it at no cost.
Why it takes 4 to 7 weeks
Sculpting, drying, glazing and firing take 21 to 35 days. Clay cannot be rushed — a piece that goes into the kiln before it is fully dry will crack. Shipping adds another 7 to 14 days.
If you have a date you are working towards, message us before you order. We would rather tell you it is not possible than miss it.
How to place an order
There is no checkout on this site. Orders go through our Etsy shop, which handles payment and adds Etsy's buyer protection, or directly by email for anything not listed there.
- Etsy handles payment and adds Etsy's buyer protection. Send us your pet's photos in an Etsy message after ordering.
- Email is better for anything not listed — a breed we have not made, an unusual size, a design you have in mind. We reply within a business day.
What we need from you
- Photos of your pet — three or four, from different angles
- Their name, if you would like it engraved
- Your pet's weight, so we can recommend a size (see the size guide)
- Any theme or colour you have in mind — flowers, stars, the ocean, a favourite blanket

Still deciding?
You do not have to know the size or the design before you get in touch. Most people start by sending a photo and asking what we would suggest.
