Pet Urn Size Guide
Urn size is chosen by your pet's weight before cremation, not by their height or breed. The standard is one cubic inch of capacity for every pound of body weight. If your pet sits close to the edge between two sizes, choose the larger one.

Typical breeds for each size
- Size S — Cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, small terriers
- Size M — Shiba Inu, Corgi, Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, French Bulldog
- Size L — Labrador, Golden Retriever, Border Collie, German Shepherd
How to measure if you are unsure
Use your pet's weight when they were healthy, before cremation. Ashes weigh far less than the living animal, but urn capacity is conventionally sized against living weight, which leaves comfortable headroom.
If you have already collected the ashes, the crematorium usually notes the volume on the paperwork. Send us that number and we will tell you which size fits.
Keeping only a portion
Some people scatter most of the ashes and keep a small amount at home, or divide them between family members. In that case size S is almost always enough, whatever the breed. Our smaller keepsakes are made for exactly this.
