Pepple Studio

About the Studio

Pepple Studio is a small ceramic workshop in Ho Chi Minh City. We make pet memorial urns and keepsakes, each one topped with a figurine sculpted by hand from photographs of the animal it is made for. No moulds, no 3D printing, no two the same.

Why sculpted, not printed

Most personalised pet urns put a photograph onto ceramic — printed, transferred, or painted flat onto the surface. That works, and it is much faster.

We do the slow thing instead. Someone sits with your photos and builds the animal in three dimensions out of clay: the set of the ears, the weight of the body, the particular way that one dog held their head. It takes days rather than hours, which is most of the reason our lead time is what it is.

The six stages, illustrated:

Drawn rather than photographed — a deliberate choice. Most of the people who find us are having a hard week, and a set of illustrations explains the process without putting a kiln and a pair of hands in front of someone who is not ready for it.

Why 1200°C matters

At 1200°C clay vitrifies: the particles fuse and the material stops being porous. It will not absorb damp, will not stain from the inside, and will not degrade. Lower-fired earthenware — which is what a lot of decorative ceramic is — stays porous underneath its glaze.

For an object meant to hold ashes and sit on a shelf for the rest of someone's life, that difference is the entire point.

Where we are

The studio is in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and every piece is made here. We ship worldwide; most of our orders go to the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

We mention this openly because it will be on the customs label anyway, and because there is nothing to apologise for. Vietnam has a long ceramics tradition, and it is where the people who make these things live.

How new we are

Pepple Studio opened in March 2026. At the time of writing we have shipped a couple of dozen orders and hold a 5.0 rating from a small number of reviews on Etsy.

We would rather tell you that than dress it up. If you would like to see more of the work before ordering, the Etsy listings have far more photographs than this site does, and you are welcome to email us and ask for more.
