Why people choose sleeping cloud
Almost every owner has one particular image of their animal asleep — a specific corner of the sofa, a patch of sun on the floor, the foot of the bed. That is usually the memory people want kept, rather than anything more ceremonial.
Sculpting an animal asleep is also, quietly, easier to get right than sculpting one alert. A sleeping pose is about weight and curve rather than expression, and the likeness lands more reliably.

How this design is made
The cloud is thrown as a shallow rounded form and the figurine is built directly onto it, so the body appears to sink into it slightly. Getting that compression right is the whole trick — a pet sitting flat on top of a cloud looks stuck on.
Tails wrap around the body where the breed allows. For long-coated animals we cut the fur texture in with a fine tool after the main form is dry enough to hold detail.
The cloud is left white or very pale so the animal reads as the subject rather than competing with the base.
