How Much Does a Custom Pet Urn Cost?
A custom pet urn from Pepple Studio costs USD 173 to 303. What moves the price, what costs nothing, and what the figure does not cover when it crosses a border.
A custom pet urn from Pepple Studio costs USD 173 to 303. Within one design, size is what moves the price: the standard urn is USD 186 at size S, USD 218 at M and USD 260 at L, and an optional photo stand adds USD 27 to 29. Keepsakes start lower, at USD 42, because they are smaller pieces.
Colour costs nothing, and neither does how complicated your pet is to sculpt.
How much does a custom pet urn cost?
The standard custom pet urn from Pepple Studio costs USD 186 for the smallest size and USD 289 for the largest with a photo stand, and the premium sculpted portrait urn runs USD 222 to 303. Every piece in that range is high-fired ceramic with a figurine of your pet sculpted by hand from your own photographs and fired onto the lid. Within a design, what changes the price is size and one optional extra. The standard urn prices like this:
| Size | Suits a pet up to | Urn alone | With a photo stand |
|---|---|---|---|
| S, 8cm | 8.5kg (19lb) | USD 186 | USD 213 |
| M, 10cm | 17kg (37lb) | USD 218 | USD 245 |
| L, 13cm | 34kg (75lb) | USD 260 | USD 289 |
Three glaze colours are offered at every size, and all three cost the same. A premium sculpted portrait urn is the same idea with more modelling on the lid, which is why it costs more.
Does a bigger pet urn cost more?
Yes. At Pepple Studio the same design costs more at each size up: the standard urn runs USD 186 at size S, USD 218 at M and USD 260 at L. The reason is volume rather than decoration: a larger vessel uses more clay, takes longer to dry evenly, and occupies more space in a kiln load. Size is decided by your pet rather than by taste, using the trade convention of one cubic inch of capacity for every pound of living body weight, so a 12kg dog needs the middle size and a 30kg dog needs the largest. Our size guide converts a weight to the size that fits it. Ordering a size up for comfort is fine and costs the step above; ordering a size down is the one mistake that cannot be fixed after the ashes come home, because an urn that does not hold everything cannot be enlarged later.
Why does a hand-sculpted urn cost more than a plain one?
A hand-sculpted urn costs more because the figurine on the lid is built once, for one animal, and cannot be reused. A mould lets the same shape be cast again and again, and the cost of making it is spread across every copy. At Pepple Studio there is no mould and no printed or scanned stage, so the modelling starts from your photographs each time and ends when that particular dog or cat is recognisable. That work is the reason the studio quotes four to seven weeks rather than a shipping date, and it is also the reason the price does not rise for an unusual breed or an awkward coat. The hours are similar; only the result differs. What a sculpted lid can and cannot capture at this scale is set out in how accurate a hand-sculpted figurine is.
What is not included in the price?
Import duties and taxes are not included in the price of a custom pet urn, and Pepple Studio does not collect them. Where a destination country charges them, they are the buyer’s responsibility and they are set by that country rather than by the studio. Our shipping pages give the position for each market and name the authority that decides it: US Customs and Border Protection, HMRC in the United Kingdom, the Canada Border Services Agency, and the Australian Border Force. Everything else that reaches you is part of the piece: the engraved name, the sculpted lid, the glaze colour you chose, three layers of shockproof packaging and tracking. If a piece arrives broken, send a photo within 7 days of delivery and we remake and reship it at no cost.

An example of this design. Portraits are painted by hand rather than printed, and the names are painted on at the same stage. The pieces shown are digital visualisations.
If an urn is more than you want to spend
Not every memorial has to be a vessel. A hand-painted portrait pendant is USD 42, a 3D pet keychain runs USD 42 to 50, and a memorial plate or ring dish is USD 92 for one, USD 200 for a set of two and USD 250 for a set of three. These are the same clay and the same 1200°C firing as the urns, in less of it. People who already have a plain container from the crematorium often start here and decide about an urn later, which is a reasonable order to do it in. The rest of the smaller pieces are in keepsakes.

Prices on the site are set in US dollars and shown per size; pick your country and each product page shows the figure in your own currency. The figure you see at the size your pet needs is the figure you pay for the piece. The urn collection has every design at every size, and the colours cost the same whichever one you pick.
