Why people choose floral & daisy
Daisies are the flower of childhood: chains made on lawns, the first thing anyone learns to draw. They carry innocence without any of the weight that lilies or roses bring.
Dandelion seed heads do something slightly different. They are about letting go, and about the fact that the thing being scattered goes on to become something else. Several owners have asked for those specifically after scattering ashes.

How this design is made
Flowers are scattered rather than arranged, with deliberate empty space between them. A crowded surface fights with the figurine on the lid; a sparse one lets it breathe.
Daisy petals are painted in white slip that sits fractionally above the glaze, so they catch light from the side. Seed heads are done in the finest brush we own and are the slowest part of the piece.
Because the composition is loose, this theme adapts well to a specific flower if your pet had one — something from your garden, or from the bouquet at the vet.
